Obituary for Lola G. Polo Patella

Lola G. Polo Patella
Lola G. Polo Patella, 93 of Long Branch, died peacefully on April 14, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Born in Newark, she had lived in Belleville before moving to Long Branch in 1964. Lola was the proprietor of several apartment buildings in Long Branch. She performed with the Metro Lyric Opera Company in Allenhurst, an avid traveler and a parishioner of St. Michael's R.C, Church in West End, Long Branch, where she sang in the choir. But most importantly was her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Pasquale G. Patella in 1982; her parents, Riccardo and Virginia Polo and her brother, Marco Polo in 1999. Surviving are her 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew Pasquale and Debbie Patella of Oceanport; Gerard A. and Jelena Patella of Florida; Daniel R. and Christine Patella of Oceanport; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Anne and Nicholas Ravaschiere of West Long Branch; Virginia R. Patella of Long Branch; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Gloria Polo of North Caldwell; 9 grandchildren, Dr. Tiffany McCahill and her husband Michael, Jennifer Patella, Angelika Patella, Brittany Ravaschiere, Nicole Lola Ravaschiere, Samantha Ravaschiere, Daniel P. Patella, Austin Patella and Morgan Patella and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 18 and Wednesday April 19 from 3-7 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. Funeral, Thursday; 9:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Michael’s Church, West End. Entombment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Asbury Park Corps, 605 Asbury Ave, Asbury Park, NJ 07712. The family invites to write a letter of condolence, share a story or make a donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
