Obituary for Joao Bagagem

Joao Bagagem
Joao Bagagem, 69 of Oceanport died peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2017 at AcuteCare Health System in Lakewood. Born in Batalha, Portugal, he had lived in Long Branch before moving to Oceanport 25 years ago. Joao was a self-employed painter.

Surviving are his wife, Rosaria Santos Bagagem; 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Susana and Philip Tavener; Gabriela and Christopher Stanziale; Marta and Jamison Johnson; Elsa and Edward Ryan; 5 brothers, 2 sisters and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21 from 5 - 8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue, Long Branch. Funeral, Saturday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Michael’s Church in West End, Long Branch. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. The family invites you to write a letter of condolence, light a candle or share a story by selecting the appropriate tab.
