Obituary for Igino "Gene" J. Iadanza

Igino "Gene" J. Iadanza
Igino (Gene) J. Iadanza, 90, of Tinton Falls, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Queens, NY, he was a long-time resident of Long Branch before moving to Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, in 2005. Mr. Iadanza was a career military officer in the US Army serving in WWII and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired in 1966 with the rank of Major. He then spent 25 years as a Federal Civil Service employee before retiring in 1995 as the Chief of Staff, US Army Garrison, at Fort Monmouth. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America and received many Civil Service and Military Awards. Mr. Iadanza was also a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and Seabrook Catholic Community.

He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Iadanza in 1983 and by his parents Louisa and Igino. Surviving are his sons Eugene A. Iadanza, Joseph R. Iadanza, Richard J. Iadanza, Douglas M. Iadanza; his daughters Sister Gina Marie Iadanza, Christine L. Iadanza, Linda C. Cirignano, Cynthia A. Baldridge, Deborah S. Catalano and 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 11 at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Michael’s Church, West End. Interment will be at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association of NJ, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. The family invites you to leave a letter of condolence, light a memorial candle or made a memorial donation by selecting the appropriate tab.
