Obituary for Albert Carmen Colaguori
Albert Carmen “Buddy” Colaguori, 95, who was a lifelong resident of Long Branch, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 surrounded by his family. Al was a graduate of Long Branch High School and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken. After serving in the Pacific during WWII he went on to work as an engineer at Fort Monmouth in Eatontown until his retirement in 1977. After retirement he founded Colwood Electronics that specialized in manufacturing and distributing fine woodburning tools for the amateur and professional artist. Al was an avid golfer into is late 80’s and was able to score an 82 when he was 83 years old. He wintered in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for 30 years with his wife Lottie where he enjoyed his golf and visits from family members.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Victor and Anthony Colaguori. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Lottie; 3 children, Donna O’Donnell and her husband Tom, Richard and his wife Patti, Steven and his wife Chris; 4 grandchildren, Amy Ellis, Julie Markowitz, Holly Tenaglia and Katie Colaguori; 1 great-grandson, Cole Ellis and his brother and sister in law, Francis and Emily Colaguori and 2 sisters in law, Clara Colaguori and Virginia Colaguori.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Michael’s Church, 800 Ocean Ave. in Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
