Obituary for Lana Zeppi Lirosi
Lana Zeppi Lirosi, age 73 of Toms River, passed away on Sunday, January 28,2018 at Community Medical Center. Born in Orange, NJ on June 22,1944, Lana was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend. She was a successful hair stylist and salon owner for many years before pursuing a career change to Interior Design after earning her degree in 1989.
Lana was extremely ambitious and driven; overcoming multiple chronic and major health conditions over the past 17 years. Before her health challenges began she was always active and constantly learning. She was an avid skier and traveler and had a 3rd degree black belt in Karate. She also graduated Stockton College with a 4.0 grade point average at the age of 50.
Her strong will to live and her love of her family and friends is what carried her through her many years of health challenges.
She was predeceased by her mother, Jean Zeppi Amiano in 1977. Surviving are her son Jarrett D. Lirosi; two daughters, Pamela Cardinale and Tara DeSantis and her husband John DeSantis Jr.; four sisters, Jackie Anne Oliver and her husband David Oliver, Bernadette Amiano, Ramona Riccardi, Jeanette Amiano and her husband Bill Van Tassell; four grandchildren, Carter LaVergne (16), Gabrille Lirosi (16), Remy LaVergne (13), and Vanessa Lirosi (10); and her 5 nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:30 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch.
