Anthony "Tony" Bongiorno

Anthony "Tony" Bongiorno, aged 66, of Bronx, New York, passed away on March 19, 2024, in Red Bank Borough, New Jersey. Born on October 5, 1957, he was a loving father to Anthony Michael Bongiorno and Nicole Marie Heffner, cherished grandfather of Nicholas Anthony Bongiorno, and beloved pup parent to Schagoots. He is survived by his children and siblings, Joseph and Gina Bongiorno, and preceded in death by his father Nunzi and mother Marie Janet Bongiorno (nee Cinotti).

Tony, a tough guy with a tender heart, was known for his unwavering loyalty and willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. He had a strong work ethic and found fulfillment in his post-retirement jobs at local garages and plumbing contractors. Tony was a former Maintenance Mechanic at Joint Meeting of Essex & Union Counties in Elizabeth, NJ, and proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Constellation from 1977 to 1981.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, deep-sea fishing, and spending quality moments with friends. He graduated from Cranford High School in the Class of 1976.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Damiano Funeral Home, located at 191 Franklin Ave, Long Branch, NJ. A Celebration of Life will follow, beginning at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. The Damiano Funeral Home will be assisting with the funeral arrangements to honor Tony's life and service.
